Responsibilities:- SESS project - Legacy application rewrite. Previously “Showtime”, SESS is a business facing management application for in-store food sampling kiosks. Functionalities include scheduling by stores, regions, custom groupings, and several other internal features that the business uses to manage interactions between vendors and store partners. SESS is written in Java on the backend, leveraging Hibernate and Spring, hooked up to an Oracle DB. The front is being written with Angular 2 and Bootstrap 4.
- GOOP project - Our agile team of 3 was tasked with creating a product publisher and an order processing integration set for Google. Primarily to showcase products on the Shopping and Express platforms. Both integrations were built leveraging Spring Batch. We communicate to Google via REST services and all requests are authorized and authenticated using a service account ID/.pem file on the server; and merchantID for the API Explorer. There are (currently) a total of 4 scheduled jobs, not including the initial load job nor order integration jobs. Each job reads from an internal API and writes to directly to Google’s API’s. The Shopping platform simply redirects to real PDP’s, but the business wants to be able to run campaigns and leverage the tools Google offers in order to increase volume in the DC. The stipulation for Express is that HEB will be fulfilling the orders since Express does not exist in San Antonio. This project is important to me because it is my first as a technical lead.
- Apollo/Blooms project Our agile team of 10 buil t an open source e- commerce website . The backend was the bigger project, Apollo. Apollo is an in house e-commerce platform built off of Broadleaf , which is written in Java. Not only did this project bring a huge technical asset to the company, built through agile, we streamlined an awesome and productive process. Other technologies used in this layer are Gradle, Spring MVC/Web, Spring Batch, Elasticsearch and Hibernate to communicate to an O racle relational database. The front end tech stack includes Angular, Sass, Gulp, Node, and Bower which is deployed on a separate web server running Apache HTTPD. Oracle 12c database runs Exadata, while all code is hosted on internal production Git, and Tomcat runs all Java applications (3 API, 2 web, 34 integrations). The site includes a custom Content Management System which is built using the same stack except it utilizes Angular Material on the front end. Integrations channel legacy system data to application database. Internal integrations on this project all follow the publish/subscribe model and were built using the TIBCO software family.
