Designed, developed and maintained the entire Disaster Recovery/Contingency Planning function for the Dallas Information Technology office of American General Life Companies.

  • Highly recognized in the area of Disaster Recovery/Contingency Planning for having developed the “plan” used in a live disaster.
  • Structured Disaster Recovery guidelines and set up job streams for 23 different applications to include financial, marketing and insurance applications using IBM’s software package DRManager.
  • Created Disaster Table-Top exercises for eleven (11) of the “Tier 1” mainframe applications so that the IT staff could become aware of the deficiencies within their applications in a disaster mode.
  • In the Open Systems applications environment, assisted in launching the “replicating” SAN DASD for five (5) of the Tier 1 applications within the DR1 Data Center located in Ft. Worth, TX.
  • Provided two disaster drills per year to test full open systems and mainframe disaster scenarios; five of the last eight being successful.
