The Dealer Information Database (DID) of an auto major serves as a central repository of all dealer related data. The system is currently implemented in mainframe. The system gets data from many upstream applications and feeds data to many down stream applications. Over the years the system has become highly inflexible and rigid, hence there was an acute necessity to reengineer this system into a web-based environment, which can cater to dynamic business needs. Siebel was selected as COTS product to be implemented. Reengineering Dealer Information Database into Siebel OLTP application had its challenges: 1) Complex Dealer Network, 2) Dynamic Market and Business Requirements, 3) User based operational requirements.

Role: Siebel Lead Architect

  • Interact with the stakeholders to scope the project.
  • Conduct interviews with key business owners and identify problems and inefficient practices.
  • Conduct the feasibility study and the assess the suitability of the Siebel application to the reengineered database.

  • Reports design and testing.
  • Prepare functional specifications, architecture and design documents.
  • High level and Low Level design.
  • Interact with SeeBeyond team on all aspects of integration.
  • Provide inputs and guidance to the offshore team and arrange deliverables in time.
