The user application and the data layer are communicated via Informatica Data Services IDS , which in turn exposes data from multiple sources of data. Data Services are created in IDS to expose multiple Data Sources. The IDS ODBC connection is utilized to retrieve the data from IDS. Informatica Server consumes data from IDS Data Services, SQL server, Oracle tables and transforms data as per business requirement and stores it in INFORM database. There are two types of data stored in INFORM tables, Current data and Historical data. Initially, full load of the data is passed to the target table. Then, incremental data will be loaded based on the date logged in ETL Log table. If there are any updated data coming from the source, former data set will be loaded to historical data tables and latter data set will be updated in the current data tables. The ETL jobs are executed through UNIX scripts and scheduled using Autosys jobs.
