- Created an Access database to generate nine reports and post to Confidential Intranet every week. Many of these reports are extremely complex. (44) input files from five different sources must be updated prior to generating new reports. Eliminated user errors and isolated data issues by designing fully automated routines to validate, format/modify, import, and log all input files. Further ensured reporting accuracy by fully automating output report generation, validation, logging, and posting using VB/VBA. Note that Confidential original reporting process took two days to complete. After redesigning and streamlining logic and adding comprehensive error-checking Confidential entire process now takes only 40 minutes and six button clicks.
- Created an Access database to cleanse and validate then load repair vendor invoices and detail files every month. Designed a comprehensive routine using VB//VBA to automatically handle Confidential entire ETL process which provides a complete PASS/FAIL/SKIP report card for each file prior to loading. Developed (11) standard reports that are posted each month and developed (69) custom reports to filter and report on Confidential data in every other reasonable way based on Confidential target audience. Created SQL scripts and Cron jobs to stage and upload/replace records in Confidential Data Warehouse using Oracle ODBC connections.
- Created an Access database to enable Planners to select unassigned repairs then export selections into a template for seamless upload into SAP. This custom utility was created in Access 2010. Confidential interface was streamlined such that each Tab was auto-populated thus only requiring Confidential user to select parts (via a checkbox) and click buttons. Confidential interface and export functionality was created using VBA and produced a fully formatted and completed template with all of Confidential users' selected parts. Automating this process completely eliminated user errors and dramatically improved efficiency and increased daily output by 300 to 400%.
- Created a fully automated Excel Workbook using VB/VBA for use by Sparing Analysts and Repair Analysts to determine exact sparing levels at each location and multiple create repair orders simultaneously. This workbook was interactive and allowed users to 1) select excess spare quantities to be transferred to locations with a shortage, 2) select which parts to send out for repair, and 3) automatically generate and export a fully formatted and filled out spreadsheet for uploading into SAP. This workbook contained extensive validation which prevented input errors as well as help buttons next to certain command buttons that displayed a detail explanation of Confidential process(es) executed by that button.
