• Every day the CEO gets summarized inventory reports and sales reports from SAP-BW system at 8am as per SLA. But these reports have been gradually taking longer to run often resulting in 3 to 4 hours of delay. I fine-tuned the Confidential queries on the multi-cubes by setting up proper filters on them which reduced query run time to below 3 minutes from 3 hours. This has created better perception about the BI department at the highest levels of the company.
• Lead a project to revamp sales commission system which was unable to meet daily SLAs. By creating proper aggregates on existing sales cubes to run the sales commission system (Max assurance system).
• Eliminated the need to redesign the whole system from scratch thus saving company money and time which it would have otherwise spent on a new project saving four hundred project hours.
• Very complex Category level planning was done in the company using spreadsheets. This was taking long time and yet not meeting Sales department’s needs in planning and forecasting.

• Lead a project to calculate lost sales for the company because of non-availability of items at the stores. Because of the new system, company replenished the items in time resulting in increased sales of $1 Million per annum.
• This system interfaces with inventory system for out-of-stock items and sales system for obtaining the sales value for out-of-stock items. Sales data is extracted using the LIS structure S933 that is specific to Retail industry.
• Every month BI department spends lot of manual hours for processing the adjustment files from finance department. Because of the lean staff in BI department, it was putting lot of pressure on BI department.
• Lead a project to automate the monthly processing of adjustment files resulting in saving 200 hours annually and better relations between user community and BI department.
• This system is designed to process three different files automatically when they are dropped in the pecified directory in a common server. These three different files are for Coupons, ‘Max perks’, ‘Sales by store’. The process chain consists of various steps to check the file, deleting the index, loading the file, creating index, roll up of aggregates and then emailing the user that the file was loaded so that he can run his queries.
• Supply chain management department uses historical sales data for planning purposes. This was taking 3 days every month.
• Worked on project to develop crystal and Confidential based solution to extract sales information for the replenishment group which is part of Supply chain management.
• These reports were automated to run on Business Objects (Crystal) with required parameters in the Crystal. The files are FTP-ed to the common server for further processing by the replenishment group. This new system runs automatically every month saving 3 days every month and providing timely reports.
• Designed and developed ABAP programs to extract the PO data in the form of files from SAP R/3 system. Designed and developed the info-sources, ODS and update rules to load data.
• Developed info-spokes to extract data from BW to other application software. Process chains were used to automate various processing steps within BW. Used BO for user interface.
• Part of a team to design, develop and implement BW based inventory system. It extracts weekly snap shot of inventory from the R3 system and daily movements of inventory, daily POS data, daily purchases using LIS structures and then updates inventory cube.
