- Worked as project facilitator on Astro25/P25 800 MHz Rebanding projects for Orange County, FL and Orlando, FL. Created approved schedules for both projects, led planning meetings, led kick-off meetings. Launched first stage of project replacing mobile radios that were not reprogrammable. Quickly got this phase ahead of schedule and on budget, replacing over 1000 Orange County Sheriff’s Department vehicle mounted radios and 1500 hand held radios from various county agencies in the first month of the project (budgeted to replace 600 vehicle mount and 700 hand held radios in this time frame).
- Simultaneously project managing the Astro25/P25 800 MHz Rebanding projects for the cities of Newport News, Suffolk and Chesapeake, VA. Led planning and kick-off meetings. Participated in scheduled quarterly regional coordination meetings. Successfully launched radio replacement work in Newport News and had project on schedule and on budget, replacing approximately 500 vehicle mounted radios and 750 hand held radios from various departments and agencies. This project was ongoing when I left Confidential .
- Led one of three teams that performed analysis and contributed to proposal to secure $154,640,000 in federal grants for the Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communication System Authority (LA-RICS) to deploy a 700 MHz public safety mobile broadband network across all of Los Angeles County, CA featuring almost 300 broadband access sites using new and existing infrastructure including fixed microwave and high capacity fiber. The network will enable CAD, rapid law enforcement inquiries, real-time video streaming, medical telemetry and Confidential t tracking, GIS services for First Responders and many other broadband dependent applications.
