- SDLC (Waterfall) Projects
At IntelliTax Software, I owned the projects where new features were added to existing products as well as adding new applications to the company financial product lines. For these projects, we used a traditional SDLC project life cycle approach. These projects ranged in size from 500 lines of code to well over 500,000 lines of code and were complex in nature. I led and managed technical teams of 22 -35 FTE and performed all levels of project management, including; initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, quality assurance, and closing. I also managed and mentored other project managers. Highlights of my performance were:
- New applications
- Designed new application that expanded the company’s product line and generated a new stream of revenue opportunities for our customers
- Created project charter for a new application line of products that enhanced our stand in the market and increased overall sales
- Worked with Product Management to create a User Group to assist in defining the requirements
- Created project plans and executed projects to developed these new applications

- Confidential,Agile/Scrum Projects
At IntelliTax Software, I also owned the annual government regulation compliance project where the business logic for our products were revised to meet new government regulations. The business logic represented a project of well over a 1MM lines of code and this was a complex project involving multiple subprojects. This project was subject to uncontrolled/unknown requirements and quickly changing requirements, making it difficult to manage via traditional project management methods and a perfect candidate for an Agile/Scrum framework.
- Successfully implemented change from traditional project life cycle to a Test Driven Development/Agile Framework project life cycle for critical annual government regulation compliance project. This resulted in:
- A significant increase in the teams’ ability to deliver, evidenced by setting a company record for completing the project in a timely fashion
- Enabled the company to meet published promises of delivery dates critical to our customers
- Increased customer gross revenues - largest customer reported a 30% increase in gross revenue
- Higher quality software evidenced by a significant reduction in post release defects and ensuing service releases
- A significant increase in the:
- teams’ general enjoyment of their work and each other
- teams’ confidence level to perform as expected and needed by the company
- the executive management, sales, and support teams confidence in the teams’ abilities to deliver evidenced by the decision to move more projects to an Agile/Scrum framework
