- GFC Global Funds Control is a risk mitigation engine within the Treasury and Securities Services TSS division of JPMC. GFC is responsible for approving all transactions for accounts which have any form of credit line with JPMC. Currently GFC primarily runs on mainframes and all reporting takes place on mainframe green screens. The two tasks for this effort were: Firstly to remove all non essential processing out of GFC core engine, this is completely running in core memory for z/OS. Secondly, all reporting on GFC would be driven from the DB2 instead of the core. Thus allowing the core process to do its jobs and reduce non-essential load on the core memory.
- Worked with clients BA's and mainframe teams in understanding all reporting requirements. Proactively worked with other downstream / upstream applications and included their reporting needs as a part of this exercise. Thus increasing the utility of the solution and improving ROI for this program. Created the data model to support all the reporting requirements.
- Phased the complete project work in manageable steps which were aligned with the org wide releases that happen thrice a year.

This design helped the DWH design to be source or geography agnostic. The BIDW gave the HQ a single view of all geographies. It also provides common metrics to measure / compare performance across geographies.
- The program also established a common data governance program across geographies which made sure the new BIDW program would not get derailed. The solution catered to multiple and complex hierarchical structures and handles multiple dimensions that change slowly.
