- Consult and design project solutions for business customers within Confidential . Foster configuration standards within the business units to allow for a standard project build set of 4+1 environments (Dev/SIT/UAT/Prod + DR) in order to prevent server sprawl within the updated infrastructure.
- Work on legacy remediation and consolidation projects using T4, T4 - 2, T5 and M10 Sun/Oracle servers on the Solaris side, in order to take the enterprise environment from 75 racks of mixed platform servers down to 9 racks of servers.
- Work with the Middleware and D Confidential base teams in order to consolidate, and retire up to thirteen hundred unused instances within the D Confidential Centers. Saving license costs of ~ $800K per year.
- Work on Cloud solutions to further streamline the day to day operations.
- Work with the build teams in order to make installations more automated and efficient.
- Work with the retirement and decommission teams in order to streamline the processes involved with coordinating the retirement of the legacy servers to free up power, cooling, and rack space within the d Confidential centers. The consolidation has already provided cost savings in excess of $22K a month in power and cooling reductions.
- Work with facilities personnel to discuss d Confidential center consolidation efforts. With all of the virtualization efforts, we were be able to consolidate 5 local NOVA d Confidential centers into two very efficient d Confidential centers. This aligned with in region High Availability efforts and allowed for a more efficient out of region Disaster Recovery replication model. Saving Confidential ~$20 Million dollars over the next five years.
