- Started the first day on the job in China reviewing and adjusting all mechanical systems (with the interactions between them) for entire site, the manufacturing building and future factories.
- The review and adjustment of all mechanical specifications; it was necessary to write several.
- Reviewed and adjusted all mechanical contracts, received repeated and continuous thanks from the contract administrator.
- Worked with operations to ensure requirements were met to their satisfaction through meetings scheduled and held in Beijing, with follow - up phone calls as required.

- As construction management responsibilities increased including civil, engineering management responsibilities and systems were handed off to other Corning personnel. Was called back to assist with the engineering management responsibilities until the plant was operating.
- Mechanical equipment acceptances with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) entailed traveling around China. Many pieces required multiple alterations before final acceptance.
- Fluor, with 4 other Corning personnel, moved into various parts or groups of Fluor to work with Fluor and legally give directions to contractors for progress and quality issues. Improved communication, contact and signature timing between all three; Corning, Fluor and contractors.
