This was to reduce the major concern of Putnam Investments of having obsolete recordkeeping system and enable it to increase its service level capability to plan sponsors and participants of 401k plan by introducing improved functionality and responsiveness. The team developed an interface which could be used by application programs for accessing DB2 so that the database migration was transparent to application.
