Working with the State of New Mexico FAMIS IV-A Welfare system. Working on Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF and EBT. Responsible for design, analysis, and implementation of various change request. Make new enhancements and major modifications to system using COBOL, CICS and DB2/VSAM. Currently working on a change request for enhancements to the miscellaneous screen. This involves changes to several CICS maps, screen programs, copy members and JCL changes. All modifications are done with Micro focus. Once tested, all changes are brought up to the host for User Acceptance Testing. This would also include Incident Reports (IR). Work closely with user on user requirements. Set up Technical Design Document(TDD) for work to be performed. Peer testing work on co-workers CR/IR modifications. On-call on a rotation basis.

Working on the LEADER project for the county of Los Angeles. All programming is done on a Unisys 2200 system. Work with the GEARs interface which will process exemptions through batch or online. Work on the WDTIP process which calculates and ticks (screen grid) how much a client\'s benefit has been used up for a 60 months period. Determine Exemptions/Extenders based on transactions coming in and apply to proper tab on screen. Rewrite logic for Penalties and Sanctions which deal with exemptions and extenders. Modify existing code, new utility programs for the Client Correspondence team using COBOL and Power Builder, this involves many changes to Forms for new paragraphs or new data fields added. All changes are tested on the Development test environment and then passed to the TEST area for user testing.

Responsible for the X12 835 Implementation process. This is HIPPA mandated and completion date is October 16, 2003. New fields required by this new mandate are: reason codes, adjustment amounts, adjusted quantity amount, remark code, line number and sequence number. When MMIS claims are processed and adjudication takes place for a paid, reversal and denied claim, an 835 record is created if the total charged amount does not equal the total reimbursed amount for pharmacies drug claims. This record will explain why an adjustment is made. These records are sent to EDI for processing in Tallahassee, FL. Several programs are required to execute this process. A new program will handle all Multi-state claims being process. Indiana requires a new program for specific requirements and an update to an extract program for these new fields. All programs are cobol DB2.
Taking programs from ACS in Santa Fe, New Mexico and converting them in St. Paul, Minnesota to run in Jackson, Mississippi. Updating programs with ASC standards. Applying the appropriate DB2 changes as required. Some DB tables no longer exists, others have been changed or new tables added. Using SPUFI or PLATINUM to create DB2 test data. Using Xpeditor to animate job for problem solving. Compile programs to ensure clean run. Setting up test JCL and PROC to execute job for unit testing. Verifying output data for proper results against NM data. Setting up Documentation on all programs assigned.

Team leader for the Incident Report (IR) team.
Daily problems to the ISD2 system would occur. Most problems were from the original design and some were from the major changes being made to the system. Problems would consist of small changes which could be handled using CEDI or File-Aid to large and major changes needing program fixes which could be small to extensive coding changes and could require jcl, proc as well.
Was effective in meeting deadline set by Project Manager in bringing down the IR’s from around one Hundred to only ten within a reasonable time frame. Was given bonuses based upon my performance.
Work Programs. Integrated system to ISD2 using DB2. This was a major modification to ISD2, which had not used DB2 until now. Wrote DB2 online and batch programs. Was responsible for the Reimbursement process of online and batch.
Y2K end-to-end. Year 2000 conversion. Was involved in the implementation of the year 2000 programming. All team members were responsible for programs assigned to them. All dates in programs were modified to comply with Y2K.

07/80 to 05/90 Programming.
Worked with various state agencies: (Department of Public Safety, Dept. of Corrections, Automated Data Processing Division).
For Department of Public Safety, I was involved on the installation and setup of their Unisys 5000/90. Have loaded various software packages which include: Sperry Office Systems, 3270/3770 Communications, Oracle Database, Spreadsheet, and Ethernet. Reviewed hardware requirements for replacing the old DEC PDP11/24 and replacing it with a newer high speed Message Switching System. Also reviewed software packages for RMS (Records Management System) for the New Mexico State Police Law Enforcement. Converted a Data General System called Micronym which was a finger printing online system with very slow response time, to CICS using VSAM database within deadline and making this new system faster in response time.
Dept. of Corrections, Helped developed the Financial Accounting System and the Budget module within reasonable timeframe. All screens and programs were coded on a Wang VS/90 system.
Automated Data Processing Division, Worked on the Motor Vehicle Project.. Was involved in the design, analysis and implementation of various projects using structured Cobol and IDMS Database.
04/75 to 07/80 Computer Operator:
Computer Operator Duties consisted on operating the Master Console, working the printers (special forms, payroll for the state employees, reports) and mounting tapes.
Teleprocessing duties consisted of running coaxial cable through out our building and at other agencies. Trouble shooting dumb terminals, line problems and setting up terminals. Working with various modems: (IBM and Gandolf). Making sure all communications from user site to mainframe area are working properly and trouble free.
