Responsibilities:

• Company-wide responsibility for the strategic technical planning and day-to-day operational management of TSC's MIS Department. Areas of responsibility in this client server environment included management of Application Development, Application Support and Maintenance, Hardware and Software Platforms, Telecommunications, Local Area and Wide Area Networks, System Administration, Office Automation, Technical Support Center and .
• Under my management, the systems group implemented six new critical business applications supporting TSC’s 50%+ growth rate per year and expansion into global markets. My recommendation to bring telecommunications in-house was implemented and nine new PBX’s and three voice mail systems were installed and integrated. Designed and implemented a new LAN / WAN architecture utilizing frame relay which provided access to 800+ field employees. These projects significantly increased user capability, productivity and system functionality, while at the same time reducing costs by over $1M per year.
• Video conferencing was implemented to increase productivity and reduce costs while minimizing the need to travel. Disaster recovery, capacity planning, quality assurance and network security procedures were defined and implemented. System up-time was increased to 99.9% with implementation of these procedures and the installation of two HP9000 servers supporting all critical business applications.

Responsibilities:

• Joined this $2.2 billion worldwide computer leasing and disaster recovery company as Manager of Business Intelligence Systems (BIS), reporting to the Senior Vice President of Information Systems, and leading the planning, development and overall management of COMDISCO's U.S. and European BIS in a mainframe and client server environment.
• Worked directly with the CEO and senior management to determine the enterprise level critical success factors. Developed a “dashboard-like” warning system to measure and monitor these factors on a daily basis. Implemented over 30 applications accessed daily by key executives to manage global operations. Built the company’s first automated system to manage and monitor its $8 billion equipment portfolio. Expanded the system to several operating departments and replaced over 300 monthly reports with 30 on-line reports and 4 multi-dimensional models, significantly reducing costs while increasing user capability and productivity.
• My recommendation to develop an application to monitor a newly launched product saved it from failing by providing early warning signs, enabling management to redirect the product’s focus. Developed and implemented strategic marketing and financial systems including Product Management, Sales & Territory Management, Portfolio Management, Product Profitability, Budget Variance and Financial Performance. Co-managed the implementation of PeopleSoft HR for Human Resources.
