Responsibilities:

  • Manage a QA Team of 12 Engineers (2 Managers) in San Mateo. Using Agile methodology to develop and test Confidential applications. The San Mateo QA team essentially acts as team leads for our offshore component. Testing includes Web App, Mobile App, Custom hardware, Desktop App, and Automation for all of the above.
  • Manage Build and Release team of 3 Engineers. Using Continuous integration to deliver multiple builds on many branches on a daily basis.
  • Within the last year have built and ramped up an offshore team of 30 QA engineers responsible for both manual test and automation across the spectrum of Confidential products.
  • There was no Automation at Confidential in 2015. 6000 test cases to date have been automated, with full regression time reduced by two weeks, and turnaround time for hotfix verification in 24 hours.

  • Re-organized the QA department along regional lines. Development and QA is done as much as possible in the same geographic location. Saving across teams totaled $500k annually.
  • Established Sustaining Test team for rapid turnaround of customer issues. Evolved release cadence for patches on a 6 week turnaround. Emergency issues were released within 24 hours.
