Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- My responsibility with a western utility AMI automated metering Project was design and delivery.
- The positions included project manager for business process testing and business process system integration.
- This engagement required me to manage a mixed team of 22 contract and employee members, manage the projects budget and represented Confidential in steering committee meetings with the client.
- My team was responsible for constructing, executing testing scenarios and building the process control integrated model spanning acquisition of customer meter usage through revenue reporting.
- The business process mapping was in addition to the contract and represented a negotiation with the client for an increase in the yearly budget and the addition of 5 full time team members. This addition to the contract was a critical addition to the project that I uncovered and influenced early in our engagement.
- While I planned, lead and managed the team much of my work was in finding the right consultants to perform the needed analysis and get them access to the client SMEs.
- A very close relationship was developed with multiple (Systems Owners & Systems Vendors like SPL) allowing for the teams access.
- Systems include but not limited to Confidential ’s Confidential, EMR data acquisition system, CC&B (SPL), SAP, Remedy, Customer Statements and Revenue Reporting Additional utilities experience includes client projects in generation, distribution and outage management. These projects had at the core process improvement through efficiencies gained by Six Sigma SPC and the implementation of maintenance, stores and procurement system.
- Confidential is the updated term but the older term explains the process better.
- Efficiencies are gained by maintaining assets with regular timely maintenance and by controlling what’s in the store room and how you buy the spare parts.
- My experience in leading/managing implementations or converting Confidential systems accounts for most of my utilities process improvement work. However, as a Six Sigma Black Belt I’ve worked with the generation, transmission and mobile repair teams to “bring data” and help improve the process using cross industry benchmarking and statistical process control.
- On its’ face this sounds simple enough but given the goal of complete portfolio management I had to understand all of the regulatory requirements from all participating countries and then match that with the process reporting from each legal entity, some had very large volumes while others had very small reporting requirements.
- Because I understand architecture, and was brought on very early in the process I had an opportunity to help design how the data (ETL) would be collected from the entities and then stored in the data warehouse that facilitated reporting which in turn made testing easier.
- It is also worth mentioning that the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision continues to fine tune the requirements making the whole process a moving target.
- However, the bank’s main goal was to identify types of bank services customers wanted and then focus solutions for them.
- My role was to build out the hardware architecture and facilitate the installation of multiple vendors into a seamless buss.
- I have extensive payment and cash management banking experience during the year 2000 time frame.
- Our strategic outsourcing facility in Chicago was the nerve center for the Confidential network at the time (later sold).
- From there all our outsourcing clients’ data was monitored and or processed.
- I formulated and executed a Confidential quality assurance plan for Major Credit Card.
- The plan had a number of steps however the keys were; has the data center tested and signed off on the changes to prepare for the event and during the event the center must monitor the merchant system along with it’s interfaces to assure payment and transfer of funds through our network and government networks.
