DOCSIS Lab Manager and ATP Test engineer
- I designed, facilitated the build out, and managed a DOCSIS RF Lab. My responsibilities included installation, setup, and use of various DOCSIS equipment: Agilent & Averna DOCSIS Phy test systems, Arris C3, C4, C4c, & 6000 CMTS's, Casa 2200, 3200, & 10G CMTS's, Cisco uBR7200 & uBR10K CMTS's, & Motorola BSR2K & BSR64K CMTS's, Spirent SmartBits & Test Center packet generators, Averna DP-360 & DP-1000 RF Protocol Analyzers, Agilent 89441A VSA's, Cisco Catalyst 3500/3550 Series Ethernet Switches, and various other oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analyzers. I also was responsible for setting up and maintaining 20 workbenchs (each with at least 1 Windows PC, some had additional Linux workstations). This lab was used by the DOCSIS Hardware, Software, & ATP teams.
- In the ATP team, I developed and ran various DOCSIS 1.0 / 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.0 automated and manual test scripts using Tcl-Tk programming languages to control various DOCSIS equipment. As a member of this team, we successfully completed multiple CableLabs DOCSIS certifications and Excentis EuroDOCSIS certifications.
- I debugged and enhanced various DOCSIS Cable Modem & STB (Set Top Box) prototype platforms, performing printed circuit board debugging and enhancements. I soldered or reworked components as small as 0402 size.
- Working with the Hardware team, I have built several RF test fixtures required for some of the DOCSIS tests. One fixture I recently built, included 20 various "load" CM's and 3 signal generators. This fixture simulated real world Upstream & Downstream RF cable noise. Up to 10 CM's or STB's can be simultaneously tested with this fixture.

ATE Test Engineer
- Developed VLSI Wafer & Packaged Unit Test Hardware for various ATE platforms (Schlumberger S10, S20, & S21: Teradyne J971: HP83K & HP93K). Provided same hardware support to all other ATE Test Engineers in the team. This allowing them to concentrate only on the development of the ATE Test software.
- Developed and ran ATE Test software for the above platforms. Including releasing to production many designs. Some of these designs I was responsible for transferring to offside test facilities.
- Lab support for ATE test hardware and special test fixtures used only in the ASIC lab (design/assembly).
Lab Technician
- Various Electronic Technician responsibilities in newly formed ASIC lab (assembly, debug, testing).
