Senior QA Engineer/QA Lead of International Team

Confidential, San Jose, CA

As the lead QA engineer on the Confidential Resolve product, I tested on Amazon Cloud EC2 instances and ERMR clusters. Working in an Agile/Scrum environment, I was responsible for the QA team’s test plans and test cases. I created a Selenium automation framework for GUI testing, and a shell script test case API automation framework for API testing that combined shell scripting and groovy. I worked with and led an internationally remote team of six engineers in two locations. I also documented and provided on-sight methodology automation and training courses for the Sofia remote team. Before working on the Resolve product, I was the Lead QA Engineer on the Confidential TrustInsight product. I created a Selenium automation framework for GUI testing, and test case API automation that combined shell scripting, python and groovy. I integrated test-rail API calls to auto generate the results into the test-rail QA reporting tool. The TrustInsight product works on the AWS cloud platform.

I created test plans, test cases, a selenium automation framework, and test case automation for the Confidential Web Center application- part of the Confidential Fusion application. I developed High Availability test plans and test cases for the Confidential GridLink database failover feature for the Confidential Fusion release. In addition, I rewrote the Confidential RAC Database fail over shell script to allow for enhanced reporting for better bug isolation through the addition of time stamps, the removal of all hard coded values to allow for 1 edit script fixes, and the addition of random wait times. I performed Linux and Windows 10.1.3.5 & 10.1.3.6 upgrade testing on multiple mid-tiers for BPEL, ESB & OHS systems on the RAC database and verified RAC failover behavior after the upgrade.

Senior QA Engineer

I worked on the BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB) project, starting from the proof of concept through the latest released version (POC, 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.1, 7.5). I designed and implemented an automation framework for solution level testing to verify multiple BMC products’ integration into the core CMDB system, from expanding the core CMDB, importing the CI data through several methods, and reconciliation of the data into a common dataset. The solution tests were designed to be fully automated, easy to execute, and to bring real world data into the testing effort. I also designed team test plans and checklist templates, as well as reviewed all team members’ completed test plans and checklists to ensure a common look and feel across the group.

For the prior CMDB releases, I was responsible for test plan and checklist design for the Reconciliation Engine, along with all testing and automation efforts for this feature. This feature merged data from multiple discovery tools datasets into a single, reliable dataset. During this time, I worked with multiple teams across BMC in order to integrate acquired technologies. I also put together and taught classes for both internal and external customers in the concepts and use of the Reconciliation Engine.

Software QA Lead Engineer/Manager

I served as a Server Software Quality Assurance (QA) lead engineer for four major Remedy releases (3.0, 3.2, 4.0, 4.0.1) and, later, as Remedy’s acting manager of the Action Request (AR) Server Group for a period of two years. As the lead engineer on these projects, I learned Quality Works Silk test automation and then automated an existing regression test suite. In addition, I worked on Remedy Server features for both UNIX and NT platforms including Full Text Search, Distributed Server Option, Firewall Access, Multi-process Servers, Server Installations and Server/database compatibility testing.
