Sr. QA Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Extensive experience of working in “Waterfall”, “Agile” and “Scrum” environment.
• Have been leading testing projects that includes UI validation as well as backend process that updates and move data across the content warehouse ecosystem.
• As soon as I joined Rovi in 2007 I got opportunity to lead a huge project Data Migration from legacy app “Apollo” to more powerful app “Cosmo”. Testing involved the validation of a huge number of tables as per mapping documents and rules.
• Working in Metadata team at Tivo/Rovi I got many opportunities to lead important projects. One of them is “ Rovi Video Extracts”. It is a customized solution for customers around the world.
• In the first phase of Rovi Video we pulled data into files from a custom app called Exodus and then as a tester I convert these flat files into tables and then compared the data from source based on requirements.
• In the second phase we moved all Exodus customer profiles to SSIS platform. Testing includes running the job on SSIS platform to generate files and then create the tables and compare them with phase one files for 100% match.
• Running the regression on all Rovi Video profiles using an in - house tool called PVS. I entered over 1000 profiles in the tool and entered lots of validations using SQL queries that are running everyday so we catch any critical issue before the files are delivered on ftp for customer pickup.
• Monitored PVS validations on Extract files for over a year and then handed over to Production Support to monitor.
• Worked on many other custom extracts where I convert flat files into tables and validate the data in the files using SQL queries
• GUI testing of Rovi’s internal applications like Cosmo, Alist, Prism. The work involve testing individual module and navigate through every screen to check the functionality
