I have successfully migrated data and some programs from a VMWare ESXi 4 network running Microsoft 2003, 2008 servers to the newest versions of hardware and operating systems in an ongoing manufacturing environment. Using Dell servers and systems including VMWare ESXi 6 and Microsoft 2012 R2 servers with EMC SAN and Windows 7/Windows 10 clients. Microsoft servers included versions of SQL and Exchange with installing and managing a VOIP phone system with internal/external users. My responsibilities also included network troubleshooting of various Cisco switches, routers, ASA firewall, RFguns, cabling, troubleshooting and repair of all systems. Remotely updating, managing and supporting their sister company Crathco in Thailand with the same technologies.
Primary duties included upgrading an existing network infrastructure to a highly available VMware ESXi cluster using Cisco routers, switches & firewalls. Recommended server & network hardware, setup, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot virtual servers/desktop operating systems, Exchange, SQL, IIS, FTP, Cisco VOIP phone system (CME), antivirus and company software in a production environment. Configured Active Directory and Group Policies in accordance with business strategy. Evaluate, deploy new software and train users in implementation. Supported remote users and assisted others in reaching department goals while streamlining and documenting business practices.
During this time, I provided consulting & support services on all Windows operating systems in the Louisville area (18 months with Brooksource/Humana). Including installation, optimizing and monitoring Windows 2003,, VMWare, IIS, and Windows 7 technologies. Assisting Humana I managed a Blackberry Enterprise Server and supported remote Citrix users while honing my abilities configuring AD/Group policies, DHCP, DNS, WINS, DFS and provided various backup and disaster recovery software programs and techniques. I served Confidential as Director of Information Technology. My responsibilities included network design, budgeting, procuring servers & parts, implementing and maintaining a Windows 2003 AD domain with an Exchange 2003 email system, SQL and IIS, FTP servers on HP/Dell blade server platforms with Cisco switches, routers and ASA pix firewall. Established IT policies and configured AD and Group policies accordingly. I eliminated downtime by utilizing raid arrays and tape libraries with imaging software so unplanned events were swiftly resolved on servers, clients and remote clients. My duties also included evaluating and installing a VOIP phone system, server/client hardware and software, VPN, SANS and building security systems as well as develop ping and maintaining all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. I also troubleshoot network performance issues and provided remote support outside of normal operating hours.
