Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Work with client's to provide specifically tailored cutting edge technology within their environment.
• Replace part or all of the client's IT pieces in order to exceed their expectations.

• Monitored and resolved network related issues.
• Upgraded Cisco 7200 routers to the newer Cisco 7200VXRs, decreasing dependency on an older IOS. During the upgrade, discovered the ISL could not be used and change the trunk to 802.1Q.
• Identified a need for second level support of US clients during the time the Frankfurt office was closed, and I stepped up to take the position of Second Level Support on Cisco VPN issues to expiate the resolution for the client. By resolving this delay saved the client at least 5 additional hours of valuable trading time.
• Lead a team of 4 engineers for Internet issues after Frankfurt office had gone home for the day.
• Teamed with DBS engineers to research SaaS advantages and created presentation regarding details to management and directors while in Frankfurt, Germany.
• Evolved data transfer by converting E1 bandwidth to two T1s for our US clients, and worked with Telecoms from Europe and the US to troubleshoot and install new or current clients.
