- Support mainframe State Health Care System (CA-MMIS).
- Developed many ADHOC reports for DHCS team. These reports involved the creation of reports using COBOL programs for the extracts. New development for the California Health Systems.
- Converted Mainframe files into a PC readable format for Fraud Detection. Claims involved Outpatient billing, Medical billing, Crossover Inpatient and Crossover Outpatient. This project involved outside vendors that I had to ship drives. I wrote COBOL and SYNCSORT reports to unpacked, delimited, and convert to a fixed length file from a variable length files. These files were used to be loaded into an UNIX system. We would take COBOL programs from mainframe environment and load into a Micro Focus COBOL for testing.
- Designed ADHOC reports for CA-MMIS Accounts Payable Cash Management Department. This reporting saved the department 16 hours every week in research time. I did the design, development, and implementation of a COBOL process to read VSAM file and extract weekly information for the users.
- Modified several DYL280 selection criteria for more claim types. In Patient and Out Patient claims were added to the selection criteria.
- Created Collections report to identify the monthly collections and the balances owing. My team was newly formed team which took over support of many IBM projects. I created a basic extract system using COBOL and Assembler programs.
- Created SQL extract calls to the DB2 data bases.

- Support mainframe State Health Care System (CA-MMIS).
- Helped implement the Inmate Eligibility Program for the State of California. I updated many COBOL programs to handle the new aid codes created by the Inmate system.
- Flowcharted the path of a Health Care Claim from receiving to the sending of the request for Warrant (Check) from the State of California. This project involved researching COBOL programs and determine the data flow from one program to the next.
- Did analysis on Claims Processing changes necessary for the new HIPAA requirements. This included the pricing of a claim. Claim types are Pharmacy, Long Term Care, Inpatient, Outpatient, Medical, Crossover, and Vision. This project required researching the claims system COBOL programs and mainframe jobs. I had to do the analysis to determine the changes required.

- Support mainframe feeds from payroll systems to security databases, maintaining schedules and updating processes as populations change. I designed, develop, and implemented a conversion process that involved 20-30 COBOL programs. Some of these programs were IDMS ADO screens.
- Converted key populations (~39,000 employees) from legacy PeopleSoft 3.2 and Acme payroll systems to Albertsons AHRIS payroll system. I had to change the output formats and route the changed files to new Payroll System. These were COBOL programs.
- Created PC readable file from the mainframe VSAM files. This involved converting packed fields into PC formatted files.
- Developed/ran audit queries for validation of data conversions from DB2 to Oracle databases.
- Supported the CICS/VSAM and ADSO/IDMS payroll screens for processing of rate schedules, garnishments, benefit updates, W2s and driver mileage. These CICS/VSAM screens were COBOL programs
- Monitored and updated system tables for store records when new stores are opened in order for the stores to be recognized by payroll.
- Created SQL scripts to go up against the Oracle PEOPLESOFT applications.
