Position: RF DAS Performance Engineer

  • Perform Site survey for the stations in WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) that need to have DAS.
  • Work with the design engineers to design DAS system using iBwave design tool for 50 underground stations and about 100 miles tunnels for WMATA, also submit these designs to CAD department and create both drawings and schematic sheets for the stations.
  • Design the Link Budget for every station to meet the capacity and the coverage requirements from the carriers.
  • Work with planning engineers for all carriers (ATT, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile) to review the capacity for each station that needs the DAS and change the site parameters where needed.
  • Walk testing with WirelessPro and AgilentE6474A scanner and software to collect data inside the stations.
  • Post process the collected data using WirelessPro for CDMA and UMTS data, Agilent and Actix analyzer for GSM and UMTS data to create the coverage reports.
  • Troubleshoot the equipment inside the stations like PCS, AWS, Wimax, iDEN and LTE repeaters, combiners, and try to resolve the PIM (Passive Inter Mode) problems in the combiners.
