Responsibilities:

  • Delivered Identity Services Self - Service Whitelisting solution that AWS service teams use to integrate specific privileged actions for their services in secure manner, supporting Service Principals and account-based on-boarding to critical identity APIs, as well as publishing and security approval of customer-visible AWS-managed policies. This solution helped to speed up build for 12 new AWS regions by 34%, alleviating manual work to handle ~36K ad-hoc requests from all teams in AWS, saving ~2600 person days of manual work.
  • Delivered Automated Host Bulk-Bootstrap solution for AWS Identity Platform, allowing operators to add and remove multiple hosts with validation of those activities via service specific configuration. Hosts being added undergo hard drive/disk validation, have secrets securely provisioned, activated, and added to VIPs. Configured service alarms, service logs validation and VIP health checks are automatically monitored to ensure that new capacity is operating successfully after being added. This solution helped completely eliminate manual process involved in fleet expansion, which where time and resources consuming, prone to errors and often led to service outages.
  • Delivered Operational Health Portal for AWS Identity Platform. Portal provides customers with comprehensive view of their operational load and offers unique benefit to identify, dive deep and follow up on operational health trends (both positive and negative). This includes, audits service owners should be cognizant of, operational tasks services are assigned or picked up in course of operations their service, high severity events and follow-up postmortems and action tracking, fleets that are not up to date with latest OS security patches, policy violations, Service Level Agreement metrics and set of automated daily reports. Portal serving more than 70 service teams from 5 different Organizations in Amazon AWS Platform, saving more than 500 person days of manual work annually to prepare and conduct Org/Team operational review meetings
  • Delivered Business Metrics Reporting Solution, built on Native AWS infrastructure. Business Metrics are used to monitor major trends in this products that includes API/feature usage, AWS Account breakdown into market segments, adoption tracking for various campaigns and security best practices by customers, as well as periodic data exports from systems of records. This solution built on S3-based data lake and processing petabytes of raw records data. Compared to traditional solutions built on EMR and log processing, system performs 34x faster, saving 87% of storage space, highly performant and scalable, cost effective and with no infrastructure to set up or manage, producing Business Metrics for 26 service teams in AWS Identity platform, saving $600K in resources cost annually. At this time, this system represented largest internal BigData system in AWS.
