PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Intern
Confidential, DEvner, CO
Responsibilities:Confidential creates interactive, GIS based web maps for land developers, contractors, and property managers. While I was working for Confidential, I was creating base maps and attribute tables to upload to the Confidential app. The maps that I created were made with data from the city or county GIS websites and the development plans were platted plans given to us in CAD by development companies. Once this information was uploaded and tweaked to the customer’s preference, the project was made useable for the customer. What we were creating, were maps for management, planning, and sales.
Intern
Confidential, Hesperus, CO
Responsibilities:The Old Fort is an organic farm that provides fresh produce to various restaurants in La Plata and Montezuma counties. We also sold our produce directly to the consumer through a farm stand on the Fort Lewis campus and through our community supported agriculture(CSA) program. I worked very closely with the garden manager and the property manager, as well with groups from the Southwest Conservation Corp, in performing typical manual and mechanized farm related activities. I learned a great amount about both the office and the field side of agriculture and how important relationships are between the producer and the consumers.
Laborer
Confidential, Denver, co
Responsibilities:Western development is a privately held real estate development company specializing in mixed - use commercial and residential units in central Denver. I was in charge of going through all the areas on the construction site and made sure that they were clean for contractors to come in and work or to show to potential buyers. I did a lot of sweeping, trenching with a shovel, and mixing cement by hand for the laying of cement foundations for a/c and electrical boxes. I aided in the completion of a luxury apartment building by making sure the units were clean and ready to be shown to potential buyers. I also helped the project manager in completing punch lists and ensuring that contractors finished what they were supposed to by certain days. I also had to move mass amounts of wood and equipment from one unit to the next as units were completed.
Apprentice
Confidential, Littleton, CO
Responsibilities:I was an apprentice in the pre-fab shop for the whole because I was too young to work in the field. I assembled electrical equipment like light switches, fuse boxes, outlets, and other electric pieces for large, commercial and residential projects. I also labeled these units and prepared them to be shipped off to the job site.
