- Initiated and led the design of the network framework to support the new automated process for all mail sorting.
- Prepared and submitted all technical documentation including white papers, a network statement of work (SOW), internet protocol (IP) standards, and Microsoft Visio design drawings for the Mail Processing Engineering (MPE) Network team.
- Reviewed the mail processing sites and upgraded 20 sites from 10-BaseThickwire to 100/1000-Base TX switches. Recommended a standard physical switching network to the engineering group.
- Prepared a Mail Processing Infrastructure (MPI) presentation with Microsoft PowerPoint for a data access request (DAR) to upgrade all 400 mail processing facilities in support of the new process.
- Updated the SOW, expanded the network group, and successfully implemented all upgrades three years later.
- Prepared training material and traveled to Norman, OK every two years to instruct management and maintenance personnel in the new network operations.
- Created and developed all the Cisco and HP switch scripting templates for all programs.
- Upgraded the local maintenance processes at each postal processing site with a local system tool to monitor and maintain the network and different endpoints.
- The engineering group designed a Mail Processing Infrastructure Workstation (MPIW) on a per site basis.
- Proposed and built an Active Directory for the engineering team under Windows 2000 to support the MPIW, enable a secure login process, and perform backups of each individual site structure to accommodate 340 sites and 2,400 end-users.
