Principal Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Principal architect for VOD and DAI representing Cox in the Cox- Confidential retailer-wholesaler arrangement. Played a leading role in architecting this massive software integration endeavor. Designed several features as well including content discovery on the Confidential side, Electronic Sell Through (lifetime purchase of VOD assets and bundles), Download to Go (DL2GO), Over the Top (OTT), and offer management, etc. I have also designed the integration of the Confidential Alternate Content Router (ACR, e.g., an Ad Decision service) with the Cox ADM. Keen awareness of integration pitfalls through lessons learned.
  • Designed the Cox Subscriber Information Service (SIS) for Dynamic Ad Insertion addressability/targeting. Also designed the E2E ecosystem to integrate the SIS into Cox's DAI ecosystem to support effective ad targeting of specific video audience segments. Interfaced the SIS to: 1) Experian to retrieve Cox customers' public profiles of interest (i.e., audience segments) for one or more ad campaigns. 2) Cox Big Data (VOD viewership segments). 3) Confidential MRM (Ad Decision Service).
  • Developed a statistical model based to enable Confidential operational personnel to forecast ad impressions for any ad campaign of any given duration targeting any Cox video audience segment. Considered VOD/Linear usage patterns (trend/seasonality) and daypart.
  • Designed a complex, elegant and cost-effective DAI system/software to route ad decision requests to the Confidential or the Confidential ADS based on a set of criteria: local-only ad decision ( Confidential ), national-only ad decision Canoe ADS), and consolidated national-local ad decision ( Confidential ).
  • Principal architect for the Cox VOD HLS IP solution for hospitality based on the SeaChange Adrenalin back office and Cox Video Middleware (CVM) platform.
