Set up IBM HCM platform and AIX LPAR servers running on a Brocade FC SAN using EMC CX4 storage arrays. Configuration included VCS (Veritas Cluster Server) along with site-to-site storage replication for DR.
Perform updates to an existing NetBackup environment. Including install of a new Linux based media server, setup of a dedicated DataDomain disk storage unit, configuration of synthetic full backups and the updating of most of the policies. Increased performance of both disk and tape based backups for servers and Oracle database and worked toward a better vaulting solution.
Assisted with standardization of VMware guest images on ESX base OS. Worked on backups, network security, databases and iSCSI performance tuning and reliability concerns. Developed procedures for using JeOS, Jboss, JVM and LVM2 under VMware to increase storage on guest OS images.
