Confidential

Responsibilities:

  • Gained experience in networking by working with Confidential network experts and participating in projects, maintenance, and daily activities.
  • Learned to use DevOps tools, Ansible automation and system streamlining with containers.
  • Completed and deployed projects for national use with the Enterprise technical team for security, networking, and remote container access.

Confidential

DevOps Architect

Responsibilities:

  • Routinely used Ansible and Puppet for device configuration
  • Focused on automation and device management for Linux - based systems
  • Implemented complex application delivery and configuration setup
  • Developed BASH scripts and templates for per-system execution
  • Used PAM, TACACS+ and Google Authenticator for AAA network authentication
  • Created BASH scripting automation systems for easy management
  • Developed apache web registration pages and automated mailer systems
  • Deployed project “ Confidential ” in November 2017 for Department of Interior
  • Developed container network monitoring solutions for compact services
  • Developed network monitoring with PerfSONAR and Wireshark
  • Configured servers manually and remotely with automation tools

Confidential

DevOps Architect

Responsibilities:

  • My project goal was to solve a security and infrastructure problem by developing a program designed to manage and connect Tacacs+ and Google Authenticator.
  • This delivered a secure two-factor frontend to all Cisco and HP network switches and routers at the United States Confidential campus.
  • To manage a large group of users, a series of BASH scripts were implemented and combined into the program “ Confidential ”, which registered users locally or on the internet, while tracking and adjusting configuration files.
  • To allow long distance users in the field to register and interact with network devices, I developed an intranet registration site visible within the Department of Interior, protected by Kerberos.
  • The system has since been further developed, including routine backups of important documents, a mailer daemon, and backup Confidential deployments for outages.

Confidential

DevOps Architect

Responsibilities:

  • I was assigned was router and switch maintenance.
  • To maintain a stable network environment, I decided versioned configurations were the best way to maintain the current and legacy devices on campus.
  • I deployed the “ Confidential ” program to log into remote devices, and download their configurations.
  • These configurations were stored in differenced versions, and could be backed up to multiple servers. In the event of an outage, these services would be used to diagnose errors, and quickly restore network function.
  • A router or switch could be replaced or deployed rapidly with modifications to existing configurations, or security threats could be revealed through differenced files.

Confidential

DevOps Architect

Responsibilities:

  • The Confidential project is a series of nodes placed at network gateways for monitoring and testing.
  • The enterprise team was given a few dozen O-DROID’s, a korean ARM-64 single-board linux machine. With a 1GB/s network port, it could be used to test high-speed throughput across the network. To manage these systems, deployed a series of ansible scripts managing each system’s local containers.
  • These “Netsensors” use containers to deploy monitoring software efficiently.
