Responsibilities:

  • Enhanced AWS Environment by Implementing VPC Peering to improve Routing between Regions, CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting of EC2 Instances and AWS Backup service as a centralized backup solution for EC2 instances in all regions (Cross-Region Backups).
  • Replaced current Network Infrastructure with Meraki (Firewalls, Access Points and Switches), thus improving Network Security, Troubleshoot and ease of Management
  • Introduced Virtualization Technologies; by implementing multiple VMware ESXi Hosts along with Vcenter for Management. Current physical servers were converted to VM guests (P2V) with additional VM guests deployed as needed.
  • For Backups, a NAS was deployed along with Veeam Backup and Replication. A Backup policy was implemented for VM guest and critical Desktop PCs.
  • Phase two is to in corporate Veeam N2WS for AWS as a Cloud Backup solution.
  • Migrated corporate phones from Confidential Voice Edge to OnSip Cloud Solution, thus reducing MRC, improved call quality and offered enhanced features such as, cellphone and desktop applications

  • Redesigned Network by implementing Dual Wan connectivity with Confidential & Sprint ISPs.
  • During the upgrade, Confidential ’s circuit was updated to 500mb to facilitate increased internet traffic. Phase two of redesign implemented new Subnets and Vlans Schemes. Existing and newly deployed Network devices, along with servers, were migrated to the new Vlans.
  • Improved AWS Cloud environment by employing elastic (Static) IP Addresses to all critical servers, ensuring access to resources were not impacted during scheduled maintenance . Using Cloud watch service, Power Down and Power On rules were created to reduce operating costs by having non-critical servers off after business hours and on before start of business, scheduled snapshots for EC2 instances was implemented as a backup solution. EC2 Papertrails was originated for offsite cloud-based log management and archiving of the company's Firewalls.
  • Upgraded Virtual Environment improving functionality by upgrading VMware ESXi and VCenter to current stable versions. Veeam Backup and Replication was also upgraded, along with VeeamOne for monitoring and alerting. AWS S3 buckets were created and incorporated with Veeam for offsite cloud archiving of backups.
  • Evaluated Cloud Environment for Azure and AWS and enhanced availability and function for Dev teams by implementing VPN connectivity, which improved security and access to cloud resources.
  • Deployed a macOS Server, which was subsequently joined to Active Directory, allowing MAC users to be authenticated via Active Directory allowing access to Network Resources with Single Sign-On. This resolved past issues of Mac users having dual profiles.
