  • Working on a team project to upgrade the existing ICD-9 Diagnosis and Procedure Codes used through out their systems to the ICD-10 coding structure.
  • This company wide project involved the development and extensive testing of modules, interfaces, and comparing of massive amount of data to ensure that all of the related processes using these codes were in sync so there would be interruption in health related processing both internally and dealing with outside vendors.

  • Worked on a team project implementing the National Provider Identifier (NPI) Project. This project involved writing SAD documents using IBM RUP Methodology and Rational Rose, coding of new modules, modifications to existing modules, EDI Interfacing, HIPAA Transactions and file conversions, and extensive testing of the systems affected. This involved working with the EDI Systems on the using the Transaction Set Headers, Loops, and Segment Elements to determine usage and validation and then translating the HIPAA format into flat file formats to pass to the respective claim systems.
  • This included the HIPAA 270, 271, 835, 837, 276 and 277 Transactions.
  • Worked on a team project to eliminate using SSN as the contract number. The project involved writing and extensive testing of sub-modules which will perform all of the IMS and DB2 calls currently being done in the application programs. There is one program for each IMS Database and five programs for each DB2 Table.

  • Developed the design and assisted in the lead of the implementation of the HIPAA 270/271 Benefit Request/Response project at the Procedure Code level though their existing Adjudication System. The prime requirement was to pass the data through the system without impacting any of the claims processing and to leave no footprint that it was there. I than coded the front end of this new system and lead other project teams in their coding and testing of their parts of the Adjudication System.
  • This new design made extensive use of MQ functions using COBOL II, APS, CICS(TS), IMS and DB2.
