Responsibilities:

• Perform code deployments, importing Pega code packaged in JAR files into Pega Designer Studio via the import wizard tool and also Powershell command terminal to deploy numerous batches of code into a variety of servers via a Windows Server OS. I did this for the ECASE application which is the main application that the US Census will use to accept, collect and process Census data for the 2020 Decennial Census. I also did code deployments via Powershell for an application called LIMA / MCM as well.
• As the Census began to scale up the amount of servers for the ECASE application, I began using Jenkins automation tool to deploy these JAR files of Pega application code into up to 240 clusters of servers at once.
• I use OPENSSH in Redhat Linux OS to create certificate signing request and generate authentication certificates for the ECASE servers, and then use these certificates to create a Java Keystore or JKS file to be uploaded into Pega Designer Studio to create SAML configurations. This is so that the Pega sites can authenticate all users and also utilize single sign on functionality.
• I use Pega’s SMA tool to monitor and configure listeners and agents within these ECASE servers, as well as use Redhat system administration skills to view Pega and tomcat logs, troubleshoot issues with, and restart servers, etc. for ECASE. I utilize a small amount of bash scripting for these tasks and also utilize Ansible configuration management tool and playbooks to configure these ECASE servers. Jenkins and Ansible automation scripts were written by others, but I am trained to work with and debug these tools for these purposes.
