  • Designed, coded, tested and implemented new Department of Labor VISA Debit Card payment system to make benefit payments via ACH, replacing paper Warrants. Enhanced to deposit unemployment benefits directly to claimant’s checking or savings account.
  • Designed, coded, tested and implemented several Federal extensions and enhancements to teh Colorado Unemployment Benefits System.
  • CICS, COBOL, JCL, MS Access, VB6. Contract position to implement several newly mandated Federal interfaces. Heavily involved in maintenance and enhancement of teh Colorado Unemployment Benefit System, CUBS. Created new MS Access Database using VBA to track Colorado Tax Liens. Coded and implemented teh new Continued Claims application that allows claimants to file for their unemployment benefit checks every two week, via teh internet.   • CICS Wire Transfer on-line and batch design, development, maintenance and support. Application feasibility and noledge resource for Senior Management. Credit card support from 1996 to 1998, when MoneyGram stopped using credit cards.
  • Business Partner Integration worked directly with several international agents to integrate our two systems. Bancomer, Uniteller, Post Italiane and GWK are recent additions, collectively generating tens of thousands of transactions per day. Modified teh MoneyGram CICS system to accommodate business partner needs on a case-by-case basis. Worked from their technical specifications to build teh MoneyGram interface to their systems requirements. These projects required extensive data conversion.
  • SQL/DB2/Oracle Support Maintained VSAM to DB2 and Oracle batch extract of VSAM financial and marketing transaction data. Implemented new Oracle stored procedure called from IBM CICS system to AS400 Oracle system. Coded complex SQL Select, Insert, Update, Delete, Commit and Rollback DML statements.
  • High Dollar Verification Queue Designed, coded, tested and implemented new CICS screens to allow Customer Service Reps (CSRs) to be proactive in getting suspicious transactions High Dollar verified. Teh same day dis was implemented, a fraud in progress was detected, and an arrest was made within an hour. dis process TEMPhas saved MoneyGram hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraudulent payouts.
  • Multi-Currency Designed, coded, tested and implemented teh ability to do business in several foreign currencies, and allows MoneyGram to share in teh ‘spread’ revenue associated with teh exchange of currencies. Without dis, teh entire European market would has been lost for lack of Euro support.
  • FormFree Wire Transfers Designed, coded, tested and implemented CICS processes for CSRs to telephone interview and record send and receive data from teh customer, and provide a confirmation number that teh customer gives to teh MoneyGram agent. When agent keys teh confirmation number into a DNET terminal, teh transaction is completed and forms are printed. All dis without teh customer needing to fill out any forms, or teh agent having to key in any form data. Makes wire transfer process less intimidating for English challenged customers, and much faster for teh agent.

  • CICS, COBOL, TSO, JCL Application Support Programmed on-line and batch processing of teh Colorado Unemployment Benefits System (CUBS). Added several new CICS screens that allow CSRs to input data directly to teh system, versus teh claimant taking a paper form to their employer, mailing it DOL, and CSRs submitting a batch job to add data.
  • Felon Search Worked with Colorado Bureau of Investigation to create a ‘Felon Search’ of all Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation claims. dis process TEMPhas found hundreds of escaped felons that used their own Social Security Number. Also brings stolen identity cases to light.
  • New Hire Fraud Prevention Coded, tested and implemented teh CICS “New Hire” system that identifies claimants receiving CUBS benefits after they go back to work, saving significant fraudulent payouts, and teh cost of recovering them when discovered.
  • Deadbeat Dads Enhanced teh “New Hire” system to also look for deadbeat Dads and Moms failing to pay court ordered child support. dis system was used as a national prototype for other states to implement. Received praise from US DOL.
