Responsibilities:
- Involved in LTE eNB, 3G UMTS & 2G GSM new software, hardware and feature rollouts. Created MOPs to facilitate the customer’s rollout of SW, HW and features once GA approval given.
- Performed any necessary troubleshooting of the network elements after SW, HW and feature rollouts.
- When necessary collected logs i.e pcap (wireshark), TTI traces, SYSlogs, Emil logs, opened trouble tickets and worked with R&D to determine RCA.
- Experience with mMIMO Beam Forming, CBRS, Carrier Aggregation, RETs, MHAs, Small Cells, Shared technology cell sites.
- Created Excel macro for alarm analysis to determine if alarms were pre - existing or new after rollout activities. This allowed more time investigating issues prior to customer call.
- Created linux/excel tool to compare entire market of pre/post configuration files of LTE eNBs to determine any changes that may have occurred during software upgrade.
- This tool was used to resolve an issue where the new software caused an issue with certain manufacturer’s RETs missing and/or MHAs with zero gain, the impacted devices not in the First Office Application (FOA) market.
- The available tools would only compare one eNB pre/post configuration at a time and the issue impacted 40K+ eNBs after network upgrade nationwide.
- The new tool decreased the time to locate and resolve configuration issue by 90%.
- Troubleshooting of 5G gNB when shared with LTE eNB. 5G/4G shared sites required to access, troubleshoot and resolve issues with 5G gNBs controlling the 4G eNBs.
- Performed test cases in lab prior to SW, HW and/or feature rollout.
- Experience with QXDM, Wireshark
- Performed integration of LTE eNB, 3G UMTS and 2G GSM standalone and shared Bay Stations in various cities throughout the USA.
- All work was ground level or rooftop, however worked with tower crew to ensure accurate placement of antennas and in some cases RF modules as well as accurate settings for MHA and RET devices.
- Responsible for connection of cellular equipment to either T1 backhaul or router. Collect wireshark, TTI, SYSlogs for RCA.

Senior System Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities involved the addition of CDMA & EvDO Bay Stations, Bay Station controllers, Operations and Maintenance platforms, Mobility Managers, SDU and Transcoders within Mobile Telephone Switching Offices throughout the Carolinas.
- Created Unix based tools using ksh, awk, perl to automate tasks such as adding CDMA/EvDO Bay Stations, Bay Station Controllers, Operations and Maintenance, Mobility Managers, SDU & Transcoder platforms to existing network or creation of entirely new network.
- Created Unix based tool to convert CDMA/EvDO Bay Stations to packet backhaul.
- The tool used an excel spreadsheet to obtain the configuration parameters and create a text file with the MOP steps with customized commands for the individual site conversions.
- This reduced human error and increased the number of sites completed each night.
- Created procedure to move all CDMA/EvDO Bay Stations from one MTSO to another MTSO.
- The procedure required 2 or 3 weeks of prep work depending on number of bay stations moving (maximum attempted 150+) and then 1 night’s work to implement the move.
- Created expect scripts to backup, pre-load, cutover to new configuration of bay station routers, eliminating the need for truck rolls.
- Original plan called for moving 3 - 5 cell sites a night for between 30 to 50 nights of activities.
- Also required verification daily of adjacencies to allow proper handovers with daily border migration.
- Created Excel tool to model IP pool sizes a CDMA network would require based on expected network configuration.
- This allowed for choosing IP pool sizes that would minimize IP waste and still allow for network growth.
- Responsibilities included the installation of CDMA bay stations and bay station controllers in various cities within the USA and Latin America.
- Taught co-workers and contractors how to perform the activities in the field.
- Installation and optimization of analog cellular equipment in the USA and Latin America.
- Activities included bolting down the hardware, installing cable trays and running all required cabling, loading software and optimization of the equipment, testing call processing and integration onto network.
