  • Managed a very large multi-state, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina were included in the project, cell tower backhaul migration from TDM to an Confidential backbone. These circuits utilize Ethernet backhaul to increase bandwidth and operating efficiencies.

  • Monitored the SOW for scope creep and alerted the PMO when scope creep occurred. Responsibilities:

  • Managed a nationwide 3 ½ year, Confidential layer 3 and layer 2 network Confidential backbone conversion. Using Confidential, BGP, RSVP, BFD, ISIS, SRLG and Confidential to structure the new network and to expand layer 2 services to Confidential customers.
  • Project phases were transitioned with a verifiable deliverable and approved change requests were completed prior to moving to the next significant phase. The project was iterative in that all changes and deliverable updates were promulgated to all areas touched in the project.
  • Hence revisions, codes, bug fixes, patches and new best practices were kept evergreen and there was no loss of continuity though the project commenced over a multi year period. Failure to document changes, moves and additions would render the documentation database questionable in its accuracy and current detail. Multiple project phases occurred in an overlapping fashion. The project was broken down into 10 large pieces and each piece was then subdivided by action taken and geographic location of the service or product.
  • My responsibility was 6 of the 10 pieces with multiple inter-related MOPs and changes to 800 plus devices.There were dependencies for many of my actions that were dependent upon time and access to equipment beyond my control. I utilized my project management skills to ensure multiple project phases moved along in sync without lost time and in a step wise fashion.
  • Worked with and followed the project charter. Built a stakeholder registry and contact list for communication and deliverable notification. Coordinated initial introduction of stakeholders.
  • Developed a project management plan. Worked with the SOW to keep scope, time, and schedule on track. Collected requirements for each project phase and communicated these needs to stakeholders. Defined activities, with input from engineers to determine the specific WBS and activities list. Scheduled project work in blocks to allow for outages and missteps thus mitigating schedule compression, scope creep and project risk.
  • Performed network capacity planning, and acceptance of service deliverables in order to advance to the next project phase, and to determine resource needs for each project phase. Managed cost and budget as it pertains to time. Costs were estimated by assigning an activity cost from the WBS. Established a Quality control methodology that was based on actual real world acceptance testing. Planned and instituted work force training requirements and ensured the resources received needed training to perform project tasks and activities.
