Senior ETL/SSIS Developer
At Compass I automated all file loads that would come to us from many different clients. Automating the loads involved the creation of countless SSIS packages created to download the files, put files through extensive business rules tailored to each client, validated the data to make sure the key components were present, distributed the data to the right tables in the data warehouse and produced reports. In order to gather all business rules, I had to interact with both, senior level executives and various departments such as client services and business operations. The SSIS packages are a combination of SSIS tasks and SQL stored procedures. The packages were created in Visual Studio 2008 and 2012. I upgraded earlier packages to 2012. The file sources came in many different formats such as csv, txt, xls, dat, pgp, zip, EDI files, etc. I also created automated processes to login to the client's SFTP sites to report on any files that were uploaded that were not part of the medical claims files. In addition I led a team of developers overseas and guided them to create extra SSIS packages to load other types of files to support the business. Besides SSIS, I also used SSRS to create custom reports and TFS to manage package changes/versioning.
