Systems Engineer

  • Full time systems engineer at New York Hospital Queens
  • Solely responsible for all operating rooms throughout the facility.
  • Solely responsible for all pre and post operative areas throughout the facility.
  • In addition to this full time IT role I also handled all audio visual needs throughout the entire facility as well as all off sites and satellite facilities.
  • Responsible for the detection of and ultimate infrastructure changes and upgrades regarding virus activity within the network.
  • Responsible for numerous self-assigned projects to proactively improve the infrastructure. I.e - Re-engineered the installation of PICIS in the operating rooms such that the application no longer needed administrative rights to run through a combination of local configurations and GPO's. This was done to mitigate the virus infections which were a threat to sensitive patient information and contributed to operating room downtime that had been plaguing the infrastructure for years prior my arrival.
  • Designed the Access database which is now in production and serves as the sole tissue log for the entire facility. This was a self assigned project and serves as the official documentation for the hospital. Prior to my arrival this data was kept on separate excel spreadsheets and could not be accessed by multiple departments or queried.
  • Solely responsible for upgrading the video system which serves as part of the program to educate all new mothers during their stay in the maternity ward. Worked with the vendor to upgrade the entire system as well as adding additional serves all handled as free maintenance. This was a self assigned project to correct an issue that began years prior to my arrival.
  • Purchased, installed, and configured the new projection system as a solo project which serves as the main auditorium teaching and lecture hall.

  • Spearheaded and participated in multiple roll-out, migration, build out, setup, tear-down, upgrade, hand-off, take over, and maintenance projects occurring in environments ranging from Enterprise to vacation home setups.
  • Responsible for many changes and implementations at various companies that allowed for higher, more stable, and more available performance which led to an increase in productivity.
  • Due to rapid addition in clients over the year and a slow increase in staff there developed the need to have an individual who could be called upon to step into environments blindly. I was chosen for this role and was able to remain proactive with my regularly scheduled clients.
