PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Confidential, Los Angeles

Computer Networking Position

Responsibilities:

  • Configured basic settings on Confidential 3600 Series Routers & 2960 Series Catalyst / Switch which include IOS command line programming including initial configurations, IP addressing & routing & trouble-shooting.
  • Used IOS commands to configure static route, RIP, IGRP, EIGRP & OSPF routing protocols. Also basic configuration of DNS, DHCP & NATing using Confidential SDM (Security Device Management).

Confidential

Responsibilities:

  • “Implemented BGP protocol on Confidential ’s 3600 series”. In this project we learned teh basic operation of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), various message types and using Wireshark analyzed teh fields that are associated in each BGP messages. Teh whole test bed was setup using Dynamips Software and labs were performed that involved creating a scenario of four routers, configuring it, study error notification message and implementing weight attributes to different paths.
  • Designed and developed cache alternatives in C language and explored effect of different criteria on miss rate of cache alternatives. This project aims to design a cache memory, implement different configuration and analyze teh most efficient model to optimize CPU execution on a pre-given benchmark. Teh project simulates three different types of Cache memory organization - Direct Mapped, ‘n’ way Set Associative and Fully Associative. Teh simulation runs wif different block size, cache size and associativity. Teh code for teh project was written using teh C language.

Network Design

Responsibilities:

  • Purpose of this project is to connect an office LAN for a commercial nine storey building to teh Internet. In this network we use an Ethernet switch per floor to connect all teh LANs from adjacent floors. One of teh Ethernet switches is tan connected to a gateway router which connects to teh Internet to access teh service offered by two servers (an e-mail server and a web browsing server).
  • Through this project a design is created to decide which switch is teh optimum choice (based on lowest overall delay) to connect to teh router. This can be achieved via simulation and teh final outcome is based on teh relationship of lowest overall delay. Teh project is designed on OPNET.
