Engineer R&D II

Responsibilities:

  • Worked under ISO, IEC regulations for compatibility and safety test under FDA
  • RTOS based data acquisition and mixed signal PCB design projects.
  • Responsible for upgrading a legacy medical patient power supply used for deployment of BSC’s GDC platinum coils Class III implant device for the minimally invasive treatment of aneurisms.
  • Used OrCad for designing mixed circuit PCB analog and digital board dynamic load for a power supply
  • Designed and built a RTOS based data acquisition and control system as a test equipment tool for R&D used to provide a dynamic load for the BSC’s GDC patient power supply system. This device approximately simulates the dynamic impedance of a patient under treatment.
  • Designed and built a laptop portable data acquisition system interface for the patient power supply with LabView GUI to gather operational data on the power supply in the OR and was able to resolve a design failure mode of the power supply with the acquired data. This design flaw, while not a safety issue for the patient, had been generating numerous error flags on the device and complaints from the field that had gone unconfirmed until these lab animal studies. This study was piggy backed onto a parallel, unrelated study that had already been scheduled with the lab.
  • Using the RTOS dynamic load system, we were able to use this as a tool as a pre-verification method for design changes to the GDC patient power supply prior to final Validation and Verification of the engineering changes..
  • Maintained the LabView GUI based test equipment for a stent production line that was not directly related to my department.
  • Software and hardware IQ, OQ and VV for product and test equipment.
