This service to be sold by the sales representatives to existing TSM customer to either manage or monitor their TSM environment. Responsibilities included assisting with the development of business plan, pricing structure, and marketing material. Also responsible for testing and implementing of the selected software. Currently responsible for implementation of new customer contracts, upgrades to the monitoring agents.   • Install, configure and tune TSM on Windows 2000 server.
  • Install LTO Tape devices and LTO Library, and attach to TSM/W2K server.

  • Responsibilities included the day-to-day administration of disk and tape, the administration of Tivoli Storage Manager on OS/390, and Unix. This included recommending, testing and implementation of all new TSM Server and Backup/Archive client versions, as well as testing and implementing PTFs that are available for Tivoli Storage Manager for OS/390. Recommended and developed changes to the Disaster Recovery Process to increase efficiency. Recommend and developed usage reports using SQL scripts for monitoring TSM usage.
  • Worked with the Unix administrators to upgrade TSM on AIX from v4.1.3 to v 5.1. This included the Server and client software.
  • On project team working with IBM to install, and configure TSM utilizing 3 Windows 2000 servers. This included install of server and client software. This also included installation and configuration 1 IBM FastT, 1 IBM 3584 LTO Library, and 3 IBM 2109 F16 switches.
  • Other responsibilities included the installation of any new storage hardware, and coordination of microcode upgrades to current hardware. This includes IBM ESS 2105 devices, IBM FastT and IBM 3494, and 3584 tape subsystems. Also responsible for the configuration of the ESS for OS/390, and Open Systems, using the Storwatch Specialist. Included in the installation responsibilities are determining the placement of the new hardware, insuring all ESCON, FICON, and power cables are in place, configuration, and documentation of all connections. Setup and upgraded the Storage Area Network including using IBM 2109 switches, attached to RS/6000 systems, running AIX 4.3 operating systems, and IBM ESS 2105 DASD and a second fabric containing 1 RS/6000 TSM server, and an IBM 3494 tape library. This also included recommendation of hardware, installation, and configuration.
  • On project team to split Peer-to-Peer VTS libraries away from the native libraries. This includes placement, cabling, power, and migration to a new Peer-to-Peer VTS.

  • Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, DASD and tape storage administration, setting up new applications and upgrading current applications in LIB/CCF change control , and responsible for all System Support Production jobs, which included SMF dumps, disk to tape migration, change control processes, system backups, and all system CLISTS that are used for system automation. This included ensuring the backup tapes arrived on time, the monitoring of production jobs that performed the restores, resolving abends if necessary, and when complete, notifying the systems programmers that all systems were active.
