AIX Engineering and Administration
Responsibilities:
- Senior member of AIX build team. Lead role during a 400+ AIX server hardware upgrade project.
- Researched and implemented teh automation of logical partition creation from teh HMC command line ( Confidential shell scripting) for pSeries Power7 hardware.
- These scripts included configuration for IO slots, vscsi, virtual Ethernet, and Host Ethernet Adapter (HEA) for vio - server, vio-clients and LPARs. This automation was crucial in halping meet a very aggressive delivery schedule.
- Configured several Primary/Secondary HACMP clusters. Configuration included heart beat over disk and resource group configuration.
- Confidential shell scripting to automate filesystems creation. Script was used to standardize file systems across all builds.
- Four years of dual VIO-server builds and configurations. Numerous configuration that included Shared Ethernet Adapter failover and vscsi used to make AIX server environment redundant.
- Storage Experience with EMC server-side setup and configuration. This experience was used in teh following ways:
- Used Confidential shell to automate teh discovery of LUN IDs to be move for a multi-node, multi-terabyte DB2 database reconfiguration on AIX P6 servers.
- Confidential shell scripting for new hardware configuration via HMC command line.
- Confidential shell scripting from teh HMC command line uses to report on current hardware capacities.
- Confidential shell script from teh HMC command line to DLPAR database server to add 8 CPU in an uncapped environment and 36 GB of memory.
- Identifying and tracking multi-terabyte LUN allocation for 400+ AIX server project. This effort was crucial for identifying and resolving file systems redundancy prior to go-live.
- Experience implementing, configuring and automating EMC Timefinder Cloning in an AIX server environment for large multi-terabyte database servers. Confidential shell scripting was used to automate Timefinder cloning all for 11 database instances on 25 AIX servers.
- Provide leadership for Proof-of-Concept of new EMC Snapvx technology on VMAX3 storage arrays.
- Training team members on VIO-Server setup and deployment, HEA configurations, Timefinder operation.
- Work with design team lead and project manager in teh review of server configuration for new projects.
- Performance tuning: Identified and eliminated memory constraint caused during backup by changing mount options to release behind read write for backup file systems. Identify and increase pbuf parameter for disk IO constraints.
- Open source software PHP / PERL project. This consisted of downloading both PHP and PERL source code and compiling it along with teh DB2 interface module for each software package for use on AIX server used to monitor DB2 database farm.
- Familiar with SRDF replication. And NPIV configurations and implementation.

Responsibilities:
- Senior team member on teh Server build team for IBM in support of Disney.
- Lead role in configuration and implementation of new LPM technology. Live Partition Mobility technology solution for (8) p6 550 AIX server Websphere project. Multi-terabyte DB2 project consisting of 4 p6 560 AIX servers.
- Review hardware requirements for new projects and provide input on server configurations.

- Experience configuring and implementing ‘SAN boot’ technology for new AIX servers. This technology was used for several projects and included storage both IBM and EMC storage.
- Micro-partition setup and configuration on p570, p560 (power5 & 6) using capped and uncapped CPU resources.
- 12 AIX server Netbackup project, implemented and configured Link Aggregation etherchanneling. Worked with network team to insure proper switch port setup.
- Took initiative to engineer SEA (Shared Ethernet Adapter) creation / installation / failover configurations for all new dual vio-server setups.
