The area supervisor was not there that day another production supervisor was called over. He looked at it and said you explain it to the V.P. what is going on since I don’t know what is going on. When the V.P. came I took the book for the part with all the specifications had quality personal there also and did measurements on a few random parts to show him what the problem was. With the information provided and doing a few tests they said they could use the parts. In the meantime, why, that was going on we had the machine fixed to bring it back into specifications.
- Experience working with multi-cultural environment via training 60 staff annually on machine maintenance and production fundamentals, machine safety and operation, parts inspection and defects, ensuring personal protective equipment was always used
- Passed the Lean Production class- In that class we did excesses in how things are done in a normal work environment and how to do it in a Lean Production way, which is work smarter not harder. Have materials closer to employees so they do less travel. On the layout of areas organize it so things you use a lot close to you then have things you use less often the farthest away. Remove things from the work area that is just wasting space. Don’t store air, make it so you can use as much storage square footage as posable. Make a visual spot for each one of your tools, that way you can look over things in a glance and see if something is messing or in the wrong spot. Everything has a place and everything in its place. Making a visual spot could be with line tape or make a foam cut out board for your tools. That also goes applies to your desk, keep it organized, how you have a in and out box setup, so jobs get done and nothing gets lost. Setup a way to submit ideas how to improve the work area that gets signed off or reject the idea. We had to submit a certain number of improvements for the area a year as part of our review.
