Responsibilities:

Design structures for Off - Highway trucks up to 100 ton capacity. Structures include main frame and truck bed which are heavy structures plus fenders, hoods, cowls, platforms, fuel tanks and other light welded structures.
Work with non-metallic may also be required.
Heavy and light structures also provide mounting points for hydraulics and electrical lines, so close collaboration with those teams is required.
Creates the detailed design and then oversees the process of creating the related detailed drawings and releasing the drawings for production implementation.
Works with the extended design team to complete designs that are well integrated and as easy as possible to fabricate and assemble.
Works the extended value chain team to implement new designs and changes to production as smoothly as possible.
Primarily creates new designs and modifies existing designs to address supply chain, manufacturing, and customer concerns while also minimizing cost.
The work is varied within the overall space of supporting existing heavy and light structures designs.
Could interface with structural analysis, suppliers, operations leadership, product support, purchasing, etc. on any given day.
Most of the time will be spent at desk or in meetings, but at least weekly visits to the shop floor are also anticipated.
