  • Administered and managed a complex cross-platform Windows/AIX/AS400 enterprise monitoring solution including approximately 1,700 Windows servers/mid-range systems. This solution provided production monitoring and alert notifications for the Infrastructure, Operations and Application teams. The monitoring was constantly being improved to adapt to the ever-changing production environment.
  • Given primary responsibility for RockTenn System Center Operations Manager SCOM environment shortly after merger was completed in May 2011. Participated in project to enhance the SCOM monitoring environment as well as migrate all BMC Patrol monitoring over to the combined SCOM monitoring environment. Utilized Power Shell scripts and commands to aid in SCOM administration.
  • Performed and managed a project to determine if we should continue our contract with BMC Software utilizing their monitoring toolset or switch to either HP or IBM monitoring tools. Outsourcing the monitoring function was also evaluated. This involved developing a 523-item list of monitoring features required as well as developing and delivering an RFP to all involved. The team decision was made to continue to utilize the BMC Software enterprise monitoring toolset in house.
  • Performed BMC license inventory on a daily basis for the annual maintenance true-up process. Worked with each team to reduce extra capacity producing annual cost avoidance. The cost avoidance was approximately 133,000 over the last 3 years with the company.
  • Performed and managed a project to upgrade from Patrol Enterprise Manager PEM on AIX to BMC Event and Impact Management BEM/BPPM on Windows. Utilized a contractor to assist with the design and implementation of BEM. The majority of the migration was performed on our own utilizing only 103 of the 160 hours allotted thereby saving the company approximately 13,000. The migration was extremely successful and completed early and under budget.
