System Network Engineer, Federal Aviation Administration Contractor

Responsibilities:

  • System Engineer in (3) primary facilities in the regional migration from 175 Novell servers to Windows 2003 servers. This project required extensive engineering to migrate all workstations, clients, data, applications, printers, scripts, groups’ security requirements, and network devices into Microsoft Active Directory. Project completed in six month period.
  • Engineered the consolidation of (16) Novell 4.x-5.x servers into (3) primary Novell 5.x dedicated servers while providing service to over 300 clients, 20 print servers, and increasing bandwidth by reducing multiple protocols to industry standard TCP/IP.
  • Implemented and administered the 17 regional offices Disaster Recovery program using CA ArcSserve backup program. Standardized procedures to insure data integrity and effective recovery strategies, thus increasing data recovery reliability, and reducing client’s downtime.
  • Engineered and deployed 9 Novell 5.x replacement server throughout 3 state locations within 3 month period
  • Provided extensive System Engineer services throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho facilities to resolve network, workstation, and printer problems.
  • MacAfee Antivirus implementation for local servers, workstations, this included maintaining updates as soon as released, and pushing updates to clients to insure server and workstation protection. Random query of local workstation to insure current compliancy.
