I have many years of IT Storage Management, Storage design, and Project management experience. I have extensive NetBackup NBU experience. I have done many NBU installations/implementations using NBU versions 5, 6 7. Over the years I have gained valuable experience with installing/configuring SAN devices in support of NBU. As a NBU/Storage administrator, I was able to make the best use of computer resources, saving my company thousands of dollars and increasing system performance. I believe we exist to serve our customers, and provide them the best service we know how.

I was responsible for the backup/restore functions for the entire Catamaran enterprise. I used multiple backup software to include: Tivoli Storage Manager, NetBackup and Commvault, Netbackup was considered our primary enterprise backup solution. I was responsible for setting up policies, day-to-day monitoring and capacity planning. Given we had 2 NBU domains, one in Chicago and one in Denver DR site , I was responsible for insuring that replication completed successfully. I was also responsible to insure that our organization had fulfilled the Service Level Agreements SLA's with the customer. I installed/configured TSM, NBU and Commvault special agents for the following applications: VMWARE, Exchange and Database SQL, Oracle, etc . Associated hardware included: IBM, Storserver, EMC, Netapp and HP-3PAR disk arrays, EMC SAN/network switches, IBM, Qualstar and Quantum tape libraries. Operating systems included: AIX, Solaris, VMWARE, Linux, Windows and OS400. Accomplishment: Turned a 98 backup failure rate into a 95 backup successful completion rate.

I was responsible for the enterprise backup/restore and strategy.... We used multiple backup software to meet specific user requirements. This included, TSM, NetBackup, Legato, DPM and VEEAM. Our client infrastructure consisted of AIX, Linux, Windows and VMWARE. Using Service Level Agreements SLA's we were able to insure our customers that their data would be there if needed. Twice a year we tested our disaster recovery process to insure that our backup server and all client data would survive..... We installed and managed most of our hardware ourselves. This included two Quantum I6000 physical tape libraries, Two Sepaton S2100 virtual tape libraries, 2 Cisco SAN switches, two AIX P520 servers and an assortment of EMC disk arrays. Accomplishment: Developed and implemented a charge back system to help alleviate backup hardware/software costs.

Worked with a multitude of different platforms. OS390, UNIX and N/T I was responsible for the system administration of the UNIX Solaris servers. This included the protection of all data located on the attached storage devices. Tivoli Storage Manager and Netbackup was the software used to perform this task. The storage devices included Hitachi, StorageTek, IBM DS8xxx and EMC VMAX arrays. SAN testing was being done with the Brocade and McData switches.

Training: I created my very own training material that I have frequently used when providing formal training at a customer's site. I have been told that my training was more valuable because it was done in a live data center with real everyday problems. Once the basics were taught and fully understood I was confident that my customers could proceed with automating daily task and could fix any error encountered.
Problem Resolution: this is one of my strengths that I have developed over the years. As a consultant I was asked to visit many different customer sites. Every site was different, for example: there are friendly sites and there are angry sites. Friendly Sites: A customer site with open minds and willingness to learn. This is a very productive environment. Angry Site: Is a customer site where things did not go well with a prior installation. The customer is upset and looking for blood. I have the ability to help smooth out the rough edges and resolve any issues to their complete satisfaction, thus turning an angry site into a friendly site...
