SUMMARY
- The Infrastructure Storage Engineer is responsible for management of all storage technologies as it relates to the implementations across all applicable datacenters.
- This technology includes the SAN environment, storage network, DAS environment and all other technologies including legacy storage systems.
- As a member of the Storage Operations Team, the responsibilities will include assisting in design and architecting solutions as it relates to these operational needs, managing and maintaining the company s storage - based systems, maintaining security and best practices for audit certification, staying on the forefront of technology for storage-based solutions, and the deployment of these storage technologies.
- Act as a point of contact for all storage related issues.
- Provides support for system escalations, system planning, system processes for development/management, system maintenance, and system documentation.
- Provides ongoing storage system monitoring and response using monitoring/alerting tools and resolve issues/escalations in a rapid manner.
- Provides recommendations for the implementation of new technologies for the organizations enterprise storage platforms.
- Perform capacity/performance trending and prediction analysis.
- Performs long term upgrade planning to maintain software and hardware levels adhering to environmental best practices.
- Perform routine patching and software maintenance activities during maintenance windows.
- Work closely with storage vendors and resellers to remain current on technologies.
- Work cross-functionally among teams to resolve storage requirements or address system issues.
- Develop and implement backup strategy for all storage usage.
- Work with SaaS and IaaS solution and implementations.
- Participate in a routine on-call rotation.

- Must be able to analyze and troubleshoot SAN/NAS storage arrays to resolve issues.

- Ability to document procedures and work within change management processes.
- Thorough understanding of the NetApp WAFL file structure, snapshot, and snap mirroring process.
- Solid understanding of block and file storage protocols FCP, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI, and FCOE.
- Familiarity with the administration of Linux/Windows server based operating systems and CLI w/ scripting.
- Experience with the administration and zoning of fiber channel switches.
- Experience with capacity planning, utilization, and performance monitoring.
- Ensures enterprise storage platforms are compliant with security policies and audit procedures.
- Thorough understanding of NetApp Network Data Storage and Management is desired.
- Experience with NetApp snap* and on command software tools including VSC.
- Experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of NetApp controllers and shelves.
