Implementation of Ticket Vending Machine for Light Rail System at HRT

Worked as project manager t see implementation of new Fare implementation policy for Light Rail. As project manager for this project main responsibility was install Ticket Vending machines on Light Rail Stations, manage vendor Key Stake holders at HRT, design sales screen on TVM, handling of credit card transactions on TVM using Metvante as service provider, provide training t users and deploy application for management of TVMs, bring system int production with disaster management plan. Project successfully completed in record 3 months.

Fluid Management System Review and Implementation

Currently HRT manages distribution of gas and Fluids t its vehicles manually. The new project is t find a solution which can manage inventory and distribution of gas / fluids and take readings from the vehicles and other assets which is very essential for managing these assets. Evaluated various solutions provided by vendors, assisted in creating RFP for bidding process. Selected Fleetwatch as preferred vendor. The current project is t manage vendors, key Stake holders at HRT, create interface between Fleetwatch and Spear t bring in the readings collected by equipment on vehicle, design and installation of Fleetwatch equipment, provide training t users, deploy application for management, bring system int production with appropriate disaster recovery management plan. Configuration of Spear Asset Management System for Light Rail Transit

HRT uses Spear t manage its high-value moving assets such as rail rolling stock, buses, and support fleets, as well as fixed and linear transportation assets such as support equipment, passenger terminals, track right of way, buildings and other infrastructure assets. Light rail is new addition as a service t the region. T effectively and efficiently manage assets Spear needs t be properly configured with information such as Facilities, Warehouses, Bins, Equipments, Parts, Vendors, Manufactures, Account codes, Users, Procedures etc. Design of new LRT migration system complete, configuration and testing is currently being done before bringing all the information in production. Project successfully completed after research and development over a year. Worked in capacity of project technical lead. Main responsibility included, creating infrastructure, configuring spear application t add different lines of business, data collection, data mapping and loading. Upgrade / Data Cleanup of Spear Management System from release 2.7 to 4.2.0.4

Upgraded production system by tw major releases and several upgrade patches. It involved creating new infrastructure for new web based tools such as Equipment readings Dashboard Work Request Wheel Readings and help server. Als configured the system tables with new change data and applications, created test plans and documented steps for upgrading production system. Time Table Publisher Project

HRT currently uses printed timetables t inform users about Routes the buses would be traveling. Primary task was t inform user community and HRT upper management on what are Timetables and how they are currently created. It is completely manual process which is labor intensive and costly. The new solution was t use Time Table Publisher tool which is an open source tool completely free available from Google projects. Created dem using Google Feed Trip Planner data and created various kind of timetables in web format, pdf format. Advantages of using tool cost savings, reduced time t get timetables and generation of dynamic timetables for websites.

Map Upgrade for Hastus Management System

Hastus application was using Thomas brothers map, new maps supported were that of Tele Atlas. Provided test environment and place t plan the change in maps. Tested critical components of applications after the change. Took backup of existing system and upgraded the system with all the changes. Major task as maps are very difficult t manage in system. Test procedures and Stake holder involvement critical in managing the planned change t a 24x7 system. The whole upgrade was successfully handled. This change was critical t interface information with ACS system, which uses Tele Atlas data.

Hastus Scheduling System Failover System Design and Reconfiguration of Application

Hastus is scheduling system used by HRT t plan bus routes, schedules and services. It is used t capture hrs of bus operators and their schedules. This system is als used by dispatch t help the bus operators in case if there is change in route. It is used t record events during route. A new radi system ACS is used t record radi communication on routes. Understanding the critical nature of this application, basic infrastructure and design of application was changed. Used aliases t identify application critical parameters, changed code in ini files t manage server mapping, used URLs instead of direct mappings. Created new standby sites and applications t which the application can be moved t without doing major code changes t application infrastructure. Standby databases were created at standby sites. Tw parallel systems created which offers failover capacity and als infrastructure, which is handy for parallel use when doing major upgrade t production system. The new failover system was greatly appreciated and was critical component for this applications 24x7 nature.

Peoplesoft Upgrade Planning and Overview

Created environment t study Peoplesoft HRMS and Financials upgrade. Installed and created Dem database and instance of App server, process Scheduler and Web sever for release 8.9 Created migration database with HRT's data in it and using the template provided by Peoplesoft upgraded the system from release 8.4 t 9.0 for Peoplesoft Finance and from release 8.3 t 9.0 for Peoplesoft HRMS. Currently HRT is evaluating and testing new releases some new modules have t be configured and users have t be trained in new release. Once acceptance plan is ready all the changes will be moved t production.

Design and Configuration of New Peoplesoft Server Farm and Servers Disaster Mitigation

Created new disaster recovery model for Peoplesoft production system by creating standby application / web servers standby databases and documenting complete process of installing and recovering the production system in event of failure. These documents were very handy during couple of disasters that happened which resulted because of media failures and user errors.

Review of Operational Implementation of Handi-Ride Paratransit Program at HRT

Handi Ride is the curb-to-curb paratransit service operated by HRT that meets the requirements for complementary paratransit service from the Americans with Disabilities Act ADA of 1990. The goal of this evaluation was t develop information and data t evaluate service delivery process of Handi-Ride Para transit program by HRT that complies with the ADA. The project document included model design of the program determining the evaluability of the program identify data and analysis of data choose a research model t d the evaluation create project timelines and budget.

Recommendation of Software requirements for COTS software or development plan for Money room management

Money Room is department in Finance, which oversees collection of fares and monies from Fareboxes on bus and sales of tickets. The whole operation is manual and accounting is done on excel before the readings are put int Peoplesoft. Did analysis of work at the department and developed prototype software, which could be used t manage all the activities in that department. The model was used t evaluate over the shelf software t meet needs als presented the cost t develop system in house. Provided them process flows data flows Functional Hierarchy E-R model of system along with prototype with front end design of the system.
