Recent Project Work 

SSIS Oracle Migration to MSSQL 
Developed a SSIS package to import 34 soft key tables from Oracle 11g to MSSQL 2008. This project involved assisting client architect with developing new database model, filling in the data element gaps uncovered during the development process. Project was started using less than best practices and experiencing delays. Prior developer developed packages for each table needing imported. I was able to step in and reengineer the existing SSIS package reducing the overall import errors and improve the data quality that exceeded stake holder’s expectations. The challenging part of this project was to flatten the data to accept the approved new MSSQL architecture. The legacy system was developed using soft keys and did not include any relationship constraints. Additional challenges followed as no diagrams existed for the older system. To complete the project I developed tools to assist in identifying data location.

Online Registration System 
Architected an online registration system for a Colorado university. This client did not have any internal technical staff and required an online system that integrated with CampusVue and processed 27 different payment methods. Using MSSQL and CampusVue APIs I identified all work flow process and developed both the high level and development approach required to meet the business need. The project exceeded the client expectations and cut client registration man hours by over 80 percent. 

SSRS Lead report architect and Developer 
Client had a need to move and create over 60 reports using SSRS. The reports consisted of investment management, Fund Management, and compensation / bonus reporting. These reports used advanced SQL technics like Cross Applies and Pivots to render that data correctly. Additional reports required direct web services calls and active directory lookups for security. Client used my teaching experience and enlisted by help teaching internal staff how to develop reports in SSRS. This contract also involved improving existing performance enhancements. On several occasions I used profiler and execution plans to improve T-SQL performance.
