Accomplishments Web site relocation/redesign Project Manager

• Acted as the technology infrastructure project manager for an initiative to relocate/redesign a newly created client web site. The web site was relocated from an off-site provider to an in-house data center. Responsibilities included hiring operations staff to monitor site 24 x 7, coordinating all documentation, monitoring tools, ordering of equipment, testing, maintenance and support.

• Successfully relocated over 900 users to new location. Responsible for all server related aspects such as design and installation of hardware, securing space and configuration requirements, migrating data, scheduling moves and testing. The project also required the management and setup of a switched Catalyst 5000 backbone, installation and configuration of all new Compaq 6500 and 3000 servers running NetWare 4.11, Windows NT Server 4.0 and full SNA connectivity to the IBM mainframe. This piece of the project was delivered on time and on budget.

Business Merger

• At onset of position there were 2 different server environments run by 2 separate groups using separate NDS trees. Successfully merged the 2 groups together, standardized the hardware, operating system and procedures, helped develop a plan to migrate all user to same NDS tree and successfully completed most of the migrations.

• Team provides local support including hardware for Lotus Notes. Successfully migrated all users from older platform OS/2 on IBM PS/2s to newer one NT 4.0 on Compaq Proliant 6500s .
